Before installation:
Always maintain an alternative way to access your home, such as a physical key.
Do not install the product on doors where lock operation requires excessive force.
The lock is intended for indoor residential use only.
Keep batteries away from children.
Do not expose the device to water, excessive humidity, or extreme temperatures.
Do not mix battery brands or battery types.
In most installations, the Easy Fit Smart Lock can be mounted using the pre-installed Clamp A without the need for any additional spacers or accessories.
This section explains how to select the correct mounting components for your installation. While every installation requires a mounting plate and a thumbturn clamp, some installations may also require optional components to ensure a secure fit and reliable operation.
Additional components may be required if:
If the Smart Lock sits securely, the thumbturn or key is firmly engaged, and the lock operates smoothly, you can proceed with the installation without using any optional spacers.
Before installing the Easy Fit Smart Lock, take a moment to identify the mounting components that best fit your existing door lock. Selecting the correct combination of mounting plate, clamp, spacer and rubber insert ensures smooth operation and reliable performance.
The mounting plate is secured to your door and provides the base for attaching the Smart Lock.
Ensure the mounting plate is centred correctly before securing it in place. Incorrect alignment may affect the lock's operation and calibration.
The Easy Fit Smart Lock includes two thumbturn clamps to accommodate different thumbturn designs and stem lengths.
If Clamp A does not fully engage the thumbturn or cannot securely hold it, replace it with Clamp B.
After selecting the appropriate clamp, verify that:
If the thumbturn stem is too narrow to fit securely in either clamp, install the rubber insert before mounting the lock.
The rubber insert is designed for thumbturn stems that are narrower than the clamp opening.
Install the rubber insert inside the selected clamp before mounting the Smart Lock.
The insert should be used whenever additional grip is needed to eliminate movement between the thumbturn and the clamp.
When the Smart Lock is installed over a key cylinder, Heimgard also recommends using the rubber insert whenever possible. This provides a more secure grip on the key head and helps ensure reliable operation.
Do not force the rubber insert into the clamp if the thumbturn or key already fits securely without it.
The Easy Fit Smart Lock includes two 3 mm and one 10 mm spacers that are installed behind the mounting plate.
Use a spacer whenever there is a gap between the mounting plate and the door surface or escutcheon. The spacer fills this gap, allowing the mounting plate to sit firmly and level before the Smart Lock is installed.
Select the combination of spacers that provides the best fit. The supplied spacers can be stacked using the included adhesive pads to achieve additional thickness. For example:
Choose the thinnest spacer combination that allows the mounting plate to:
Once the mounting plate is securely installed, attach the Smart Lock and verify that the thumbturn rotates freely without resistance.
The Lock Body Spacer is used when the existing thumbturn or a key left in the cylinder protrudes too far from the door, preventing the Smart Lock body from sitting flush against the mounting plate.
Installed between the mounting plate and the Smart Lock body, the spacer acts as a riser, increasing the distance between them and providing additional clearance for taller thumbturns or keys.
Use the Lock Body Spacer if:
The Lock Body Spacer increases the distance between the mounting plate and the Smart Lock body, allowing the selected clamp to fully engage taller thumbturns or keys while ensuring the Smart Lock sits securely and operates correctly.
After installation, verify that:
Before tightening the mounting screws, confirm that:
Only tighten the mounting screws once the Smart Lock operates smoothly during manual testing.
Once you have selected the appropriate mounting components described in Section 6.2, you are ready to install the Smart Lock.
For illustrated installation guidance, follow the guided installation in the Heimgard Door App.
Once the Smart Lock is securely mounted and operates smoothly by hand, continue to Section 6.4 - Installing the Keypad, or proceed directly to Chapter 7 - Setting Up Your Smart Lock if you are not installing a keypad.
The Heimgard Keypad is an accessory that allows you to unlock your door using a PIN code, Key Tags and fingerprints.
For illustrated installation guidance, follow the guided installation in the Heimgard Door App.
Once the keypad has been installed, continue to Chapter 7 - Setting Up Your Smart Lock to pair the Smart Lock and keypad with the Heimgard Door App.
Once the Smart Lock and keypad have been physically installed, you are ready to complete the setup using the Heimgard Door App.
If you have followed the installation instructions in Chapter 6, the app should already be installed on your smartphone.
During the setup process, the app will guide you through:
Keep your smartphone within Bluetooth range of the Smart Lock throughout the setup process. The Smart Lock and keypad should remain powered on until the setup has been completed.
Once you have completed the Physical Installation wizard in the Heimgard Door App, select Continue Setup to begin configuring your Smart Lock.
During the setup process, you will be prompted to create a Home. A Home represents the physical location where your Smart Lock is installed, such as your home, apartment, office or holiday home.
Enter a descriptive name for your Home, then create your first Door by entering a name such as Front Door, Back Door, or Garage Door.
Each Door can include:
Once your Home and Door have been created, continue by pairing your Smart Lock and keypad.
After creating your Home and Door, the Heimgard Door App will automatically search for nearby devices.
Select your Easy Fit Smart Lock from the list of available devices. If you have installed a Heimgard Keypad, select the corresponding keypad when prompted. Alternatively, select None if you do not wish to pair a keypad at this time.
The app will securely pair the selected devices and assign them to the Door you created.
During pairing:
Once pairing is complete, the app will automatically continue to the calibration process.
After pairing your devices, the Heimgard Door App will guide you through the calibration process.
During calibration, the Smart Lock automatically determines the required thumbturn travel to operate your door lock and verifies that the deadbolt can move freely without excessive resistance.
When prompted by the app:
The Smart Lock will automatically rotate the thumbturn several times while determining the required travel for locking and unlocking.
The calibration process typically takes 30-60 seconds.
Once calibration is complete, the app will ask you to confirm how the lock performed during the calibration process.
Did the lock turn smoothly and fully lock the door?
If you select No, it struggled to turn, the app will automatically enable Force Mode and repeat the calibration to optimize the Smart Lock for higher-resistance door locks.
After the calibration has been completed successfully, continue to verify the lock direction.
After the calibration check, the app will ask you to verify the lock direction.
Follow the on-screen instructions and test the door handle to determine whether the door is currently locked or unlocked.
Select the option that matches the actual state of your door. Based on your selection, the app will configure the correct lock direction for your Smart Lock.
Once the lock direction has been confirmed, the app will continue with the remaining setup steps.
The final step of the setup process is to configure Spring Latch Mode.
Spring Latch Mode is designed for doors where the thumbturn must be held in the unlock position while opening the door. When the thumbturn is released, it automatically returns to its original position by spring action, allowing the door lock to relock automatically once the door is closed.
When prompted by the app, manually unlock the door and attempt to open it.
If you are unsure which option to choose, test the door manually before making your selection.
Spring Latch Mode can be enabled or disabled at any time from the Lock Settings in the Heimgard Door App.
If a Heimgard Keypad has been paired with your Smart Lock, the app will prompt you to create your first user.
Enter a unique user name and create a 4-10 digit PIN code. This PIN can be used immediately to unlock your door using the keypad.
Additional users, PIN codes, Key Tags and fingerprints can be added or managed later from the Door Settings. Key Tags and fingerprint access are available on supported keypad models only.
Once your first user has been created, the initial setup is complete.
Before using your Smart Lock, Heimgard recommends checking for available firmware updates.
Firmware updates may include:
To check for available updates, open Settings > Updates in the Heimgard Door App.
Keep your smartphone within Bluetooth range of the Smart Lock and keypad throughout the update process. Do not interrupt power, close the app or disable Bluetooth until the update has completed successfully.
Your Heimgard Easy Fit Smart Lock is now ready for everyday use.
Congratulations! Your Heimgard Easy Fit Smart Lock has now been installed and configured. Continue to Chapter 8 to learn about everyday operation and available features.
Ensure that at least one alternative method of entering your home is available in the event of battery depletion, loss of your smartphone or other unforeseen circumstances. If your installation includes a compatible key cylinder, keep a physical key in a safe and accessible location.
Once your Easy Fit Smart Lock has been installed and configured, you can control your door using the Heimgard Door App, the Heimgard Keypad, or by operating the lock manually from inside your home.
This chapter explains the available methods for operating your Smart Lock and introduces the main controls available in the Heimgard Door App. Before using the keypad, at least one PIN code, Key Tag or fingerprint must be registered. During the initial setup, the app guides you through creating your first PIN code. Additional credentials can be added later from the Heimgard Door App.
The Doors screen is the main screen of the Heimgard Door App.
Each configured Door is displayed as a Door card, providing quick access to your Smart Lock and keypad.
Depending on your connected devices, the Door card may display:
Tap the lock control on the Door card to quickly lock or unlock the door.
Selecting the Door card opens the detailed Door screen, where you can access additional controls, settings and user management.
If Spring Latch Mode is enabled, the primary control changes from Lock / Unlock to Open Door. This is because spring latch doors automatically return to the locked position when the thumbturn is released, allowing the door to relock as soon as it is closed. Instead of leaving the lock in an unlocked state, the Open Door command temporarily holds the lock in the unlocked position so you can open the door.
Some controls or settings may be unavailable if the Smart Lock or keypad is offline or outside Bluetooth range.
The Heimgard Door App allows you to operate your Smart Lock directly from your smartphone.
To lock or unlock your door:
The Heimgard Keypad allows you to operate your Easy Fit Smart Lock without using the Heimgard Door App.
You can unlock your door using:
Enter your PIN code on the keypad, then press the Unlock symbol.
If the PIN code is valid, the Smart Lock will unlock the door.
Present a registered Key Tag close to the fingerprint sensor on the keypad.
If the Key Tag is recognised, the Smart Lock will unlock the door.
Place a registered finger on the fingerprint sensor and hold it still until the keypad confirms a successful scan.
If the fingerprint is recognised, the Smart Lock will unlock the door.
The keypad can also be used to lock your door.
Depending on your keypad settings:
Keypad Feedback
The keypad provides visual and audible feedback to indicate whether a command has been accepted or rejected.
Keypad settings, including sound volume, lock behavior and security options, can be configured at any time from the Keypad Settings in the Heimgard Door App.
Once setup is complete, the Doors screen becomes the main screen of the Heimgard Door App.
From this screen, you can view the status of your Smart Lock and keypad, operate the lock, and access additional settings.
Each configured entrance is displayed as a Door card.
The Door card provides an overview of the connected Smart Lock and keypad, including:
Select the Door card to open the detailed control and settings screen.
The main control displayed on the Door card depends on how your lock has been configured.
For standard door locks, the app displays Locked or Unlocked, allowing you to lock or unlock the door remotely over Bluetooth.
If Spring Latch Mode is enabled, the primary control changes to Open Door. This temporarily retracts the latch, allowing the door to be opened without manually holding the thumbturn.
The battery indicator shows the remaining battery level of the Smart Lock and, when installed, the keypad.
When the battery level becomes low, the Heimgard Door App will notify you that the batteries should be replaced.
For battery replacement instructions, refer to Chapter 16 - Care & Maintenance.
The Bluetooth indicator shows whether your smartphone is currently connected to the Smart Lock.
When the device is connected and within Bluetooth range, the lock is shown as Online, allowing you to:
If the device is outside Bluetooth range or temporarily unavailable, it will be shown as Offline, and some functions may be unavailable until the connection is restored.
The Door screen displays the current state of the Smart Lock.
Depending on the door's status, the app will indicate whether the door is:
If the displayed lock status does not match the physical position of the lock, refer to Section 15.6 - Wrong Lock Direction or Incorrect Lock Status.
Select the Door card to open the control screen for the selected Door.
From here you can access:
These features are described in the following chapters of this manual.
Select the Settings icon from the main Doors screen to access the app settings.
The following options are available:

If a new firmware version is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
For more information, refer to Chapter 14 - Firmware Updates.
The Home Sharing feature is currently Coming soon and is not available in the current version of the Heimgard Door App.
Future app updates may introduce the ability to securely share access to your Home with other users.
The Heimgard Door App allows you to manage who can access your Smart Lock through the connected keypad.
Access credentials are managed individually for each Door and can include:
Each credential is assigned to a named user, making it easy to identify and manage access for family members, guests or service providers.
Depending on the credential type, you can assign one of the following access options:
The following sections explain how to create, edit and remove each type of access credential.
PIN codes allow users to unlock the door using the Heimgard Keypad.
To manage PIN codes, open the Heimgard Door App and navigate to:
Doors > [Door] > PIN Codes
The PIN code can be used immediately after it has been saved.
Select the edit icon from the PIN Code list, make the required changes and select Save.
Select the delete icon next to the user you wish to remove and confirm the deletion.
Once deleted, the PIN code will no longer unlock the door.
Key tags provide quick and convenient access by simply presenting the tag to the keypad.
To manage Key Tags, open:
Doors > [Door] > Key Tags
Select the edit icon from the list, update the user information or access schedule, then select Save.
Select the delete icon next to the Key Tag and confirm the deletion.
Once deleted, the Key Tag will no longer unlock the door.
Fingerprints allow registered users to unlock the door by placing a finger on the keypad sensor.
To manage fingerprints, open:
Doors > [Door] > Fingerprints
The app will confirm when the fingerprint has been successfully registered.
Fingerprints cannot be edited.
To make changes, delete the existing fingerprint and enroll it again.
Select the delete icon next to the fingerprint and confirm the deletion.
Once deleted, the fingerprint will no longer unlock the door.
The Lock Settings menu allows you to customise how your Easy Fit Smart Lock operates.
To access the Lock Settings, open:
Doors > [Door] > Settings > Lock
Some settings are applied immediately, while others require you to select Save Settings before they take effect.
When Auto-Lock is enabled, the Smart Lock automatically locks the door after a configurable delay.
You can choose a delay between 5 and 255 seconds.
Auto-Lock is not available when Spring Latch Mode is enabled.
Prompt Tone controls the sounds played by the Smart Lock during normal operation.
You can select between:
Manual Auxiliary Assist helps the Smart Lock detect when you begin turning the thumbturn manually.
When enabled, the Smart Lock assists the remaining movement of the thumbturn after detecting manual operation.
The assist angle can be adjusted between 15° and 360°.
Recalibration repeats the calibration process to relearn the required thumbturn travel.
Recalibration may be useful if:
Before recalibrating:
Spring Latch Mode can be enabled or disabled at any time.
Enable this setting only if your door requires the thumbturn to be held in the unlocked position while opening.
Refer to Section 7.6 - Configure Spring Latch Mode for more information.
Force Mode increases the motor torque available during lock operation.
Enable Force Mode if your door lock requires additional force to complete locking or unlocking.
Force Mode is typically recommended only when the lock struggles to complete its movement during normal operation.
When enabled, the Smart Lock determines the locked and unlocked end positions during every lock and unlock operation, rather than relying solely on the calibrated position learned during setup.
This setting may be useful when using a key from the inside of the door, as manually turning the key can change the lock's internal position and cause the Smart Lock to lose track of its calibrated position.
Enable this setting if you notice that the Smart Lock occasionally reports an incorrect lock position or does not complete the locking or unlocking movement after the key has been used manually.
If the lock status displayed in the app does not match the actual lock position, use Reverse. This setting swaps the lock and unlock directions without requiring the Smart Lock to be reinstalled.
Reset to Defaults restores the Lock Settings to their factory default values.
After selecting Reset to Defaults, remember to select Save Settings to apply the changes.
This action does not factory reset the lock.
The Keypad Settings menu allows you to customise how your Heimgard Keypad operates.
To access the Keypad Settings, open:
Doors > [Door] > Keypad
After making any changes, select Save Settings to apply the new configuration.
When Lock PIN Required is enabled, users must enter a valid PIN code before pressing the Lock symbol to lock the door. When disabled, the door can be locked by simply pressing the Lock symbol on the keypad.
This setting provides an additional level of protection against unauthorised locking from the outside.
Incorrect PIN Protection helps protect your Smart Lock against unauthorized access attempts by temporarily disabling the keypad after repeated incorrect PIN entries.
When enabled:
If 5 consecutive incorrect PIN codes are entered within 30 minutes, the keypad will be locked for 5 minutes.
If 5 additional consecutive incorrect PIN codes are entered during the initial lockout period, the lockout will be extended to 15 minutes.
During the lockout period, valid PIN codes cannot be entered until the timeout has expired.
Adjust the keypad sound level to suit your environment.
Available options are:
Reset to Defaults restores all keypad settings to their factory default values.
After selecting Reset to Defaults, remember to select Save Settings to apply the changes.
The Heimgard Door App allows you to manage multiple Homes and Doors, making it easy to organize Smart Locks across different locations.
To access Home and Door management, open the Doors screen in the Heimgard Door App.
A Home represents a physical location, such as your home, office or holiday home.
The new Home will be added to your account and can contain one or more Doors.
Deleting a Home removes the Home, all associated Doors and all paired devices from the app.
Each Home can contain multiple Doors.
A Door represents one entrance and can include:
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing and calibration if required.
To change the Door name or associated devices:
To remove a Door:
Deleting a Door removes the associated devices from the app but does not factory reset the physical Smart Lock or keypad.
A Smart Lock or keypad can only be assigned to one Door at a time.
If a device has already been assigned, it will appear as In use and cannot be selected for another Door until it has been removed from its current assignment or factory reset, if required.
Heimgard regularly releases firmware updates to improve the performance, reliability and security of your Smart Lock and keypad.
Firmware updates may include:
To check for available updates, open:
Settings > Updates
The Heimgard Door App will automatically check for available firmware updates for all connected devices.
