Before you buy
A good fit starts
with your door.
A few photos. A few measurements. Get a clearer idea of which Heimgard lock is right for your home.
Have a ruler or tape measure and your phone ready. Keep the door open while checking the hardware.
Start with photos
Show the whole fitting.
Take these three views for any lock. Then add close-ups with a ruler beside each measurement.

Keeping your existing lock
Check your Easy Fit thumbturn.
Measure the inside fitting and the space around it. These are preliminary checks, not a guarantee of compatibility.
Measure the thumbturn
Front view / inside your home
B: thickness maximum 20 mm
Measure the grip itself, not the circular plate behind it.
Check how far it projects
Side view / existing thumbturn
Measure from the door surface to the outermost point of the thumbturn, including the plate or base. Do not start at the front of the plate.
Leave space by the frame
Front view / nearest frame edge
Measure from the centre of the thumbturn to the nearest edge of the door frame.
Allow room for Easy Fit
Side view / after installation
Check that the fitted lock will clear nearby walls and fittings as you open the door.
AI-generated fitting examples and product illustration, with measurement guides. Not to scale; measure your own hardware.
Check the grip shape. Easy Fit needs opposing flat gripping sides. A fully round or cylindrical thumbturn is not compatible. Send a photo if you are unsure.
Replacing the lock
Measure the door itself.
For Entry Lock and Smart Lock Fingerprint, start with the thickness of the door leaf.
Measure across the door edge
Open the door / measure between its two faces
Measure between the inside and outside faces. Do not include handles, plates or decorative trim.AI-generated illustration based on real door references. Not to scale. Measure your own door.
Door thickness
40–94 mm
Measure from one face of the door leaf to the other. Do not include handles, lock plates or decorative trims.
Photograph the measurement clearly. The lock case, strike plate and complete hardware configuration also need to be suitable.
Entry Lock and Smart Lock Fingerprint bodies: 220 × 55 × 24 mm (height × width × depth). Body depth excludes the handle. Check the full handle clearance and use the installation template.
Entry Lock & Smart Lock Fingerprint
Designed for Scandinavian doors.
Entry Lock and Smart Lock are built around established Scandinavian door preparation, using SS 817375:2018 as their dimensional design basis. A familiar format for a smarter front door.
This Swedish standard defines recess dimensions for symmetrical lock cases and their strike plates. Check the measurements and existing hardware, rather than the age of the door, to confirm the right installation path.
Start with the 50 mm backset.
Measure from the lock faceplate plane at the door edge to the centreline of the cylinder and handle openings. The vertical centre spacing is 105 mm. These checks concern the replacement lock case, not Easy Fit.

Use the Heimgard installation template to check the complete preparation. These dimensions are a starting point, not a drilling template or confirmation of fit. The standard reference is not a security certification. Simplified views, not to scale.
Look along the door edge
One locking point, or several?
Single-point
The latch and deadbolt sit together in one area of the door edge.
Entry Lock replaces a compatible single-point lock. Smart Lock Fingerprint also supports compatible single-point installations.
Multipoint
Hooks, rollers or bolts engage at several positions along the edge.
Smart Lock Fingerprint supports selected multipoint installations. Send your door-edge photo so the existing mechanism can be checked.
For fire-rated doors, escape routes or certified door sets, confirm suitability with the door supplier or a qualified installer before changing hardware.
Your next step
Let us check it with you.
Send your inside, outside and door-edge photos, plus your measurements and the model you are considering.
Do not send PIN codes, passwords or account credentials. Final compatibility depends on the complete door and lock configuration.
